The Nose Knows

When you breathe in through your nose the hair inside will filter out any kind of garbage before it gets to your lungs, at least the big things. The nasal cavity warms the air – especially good on a cold day.
You also have a rarely discussed organ that is inside of your cranial cavity. It is called the vomer nasal organ. It primary role is to pick up chemical information from the outside world. So it tells you whether or not you should move forward in that environment or you should pull away. Like a safety valve.
The research is still out at as to what type of technique you should be breathing, but the key is to find the one that works for you.

When you breathe in and out to your nose your brain picks up valuable information to help you improve your performance:
By providing 18% more oxygen,
By warming the air before it goes to the lungs,
By filtering out particulate matter, and
By optimizing chemistry.
The nose knows.
